The Power in Being You
Exposing who we really are can be intimidating, scary, and difficult.
We may fear that others will judge us, like us less, reject us, or respect us less. The bottom line is that we usually don't disclose our full selves to others because we fear what they will think and how they will react.
But actually, vulnerability and transparency open up way more doors for us than they close.
When you show someone who you really are, you give them the opportunity to receive and love the real you. And really, does it mean anything if someone loves us for who we are not?
When you show yourself, you are gifting the world with the person you came here to be.
When you share yourself with others, you become more relatable and easier to connect with. You open the door to authentic and meaningful relationships.
When you have the courage to be who you are, you are communicating a message to others that it is okay to be who they are.
When you express your fears, insecurities, sadness, and anger, you develop the capacity to hold space for others to do the same.
When you give yourself permission to be and express who you truly are, you are indirectly communicating to yourself that you love who you are and that you are worthy of being seen.
Like attracts like, real attracts real. If you desire authentic connection in your life, be authentic. If you want to be loved for who you really are, you have to show the world who you really are.
Ultimately, vulnerability is a courageous act of self-love - and as this grows, so will your ability to attract and love others.
In what ways can you show the world more of who you are and what you feel?
