Instagram Coach Red Flag

“If I trigger you, it’s a GOOD thing!”

Regardless of the words a teacher is saying, their EMBODIED TRANSMISSION is ultimately what you are receiving.

Their 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 is not recognized by the mind.

It is recognized by the body.

So while the statement of, “if I trigger you, it’s a good thing!” sounds growth-oriented,

It’s more often than not, an underground hook which promotes mistrust of one’s own body, and carries a strong undertone of gaslighting.

(It’s also a clever way for the “coach” to cope with the reality of not everyone liking them).

There’s a difference between someone CELEBRATING you for meeting your triggers.

Versus someone subtley DEFENDING themselves by highlighting the “good sign” that your trigger is.

It is common for my own teacher to appropriately celebrate me when I meet my own triggers.

Or even to let me know when it’s healthy that something uncomfortable is arising.

The difference, is that he is in deep support of MY process - not in defence of HIS process.

Again, your body is what detects the difference.

HOW YOUR BODY FEELS in response to someone’s teachings is #1 🏆

Because that is the ENCODED INFORMATION you are receiving from them.

Which means all of their own patterns & distortions are transmitted WITH their teachings.

Of course your triggers reveal areas for potential integration.

And - I would be very wary of a teacher whose transmission my body doesn’t like, and who then says “if you’re triggered by me, it’s a GOOD thing!” 🤦‍♀️

P.S. Cultivating Embodied Boundaries is part of what I teach in my favourite creation, The Art of Cock Worship.
