Capacity Determines the Pace of Healing

As your nervous system capacity grows, you will be presented with MORE opportunities to meet your trauma.

You cannot meet or heal your deepest traumas with a small capacity.

Your nervous system is more intelligent than that.

So when your deepest wounds start to surface, you can recognize this as an indication that you actually have CAPACITY to start integrating some of these things.

That there is enough SAFETY for these things to bubble up to be seen.

When we push ourselves to meet our trauma before we have enough capacity, it can be re-traumatizing.

Because once again, it simply overwhelms the nervous system in the same way we initially experienced.

So as we integrate trauma, our capacity grows. And as our capacity grows, we have the opportunity to integrate more trauma.

𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠...

It is the reason why we default into unconscious patterns.

Because when the capacity becomes overwhelmed —> literally the ONLY option becomes the expression of the unconscious pattern.

There is zero capacity to consciously choose differently.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧...

Recognizing that everyone is doing their best, with their current capacity.

Because no one CHOOSES to have a low capacity.

And yet a low capacity is exactly what inhibits someone from behaving consciously.

The beautiful thing is that as YOUR capacity grows, you can extend greater safety & compassion to others, which will support their capacity to grow as well.
