The "Unsafety" of Releasing an Old Pattern
There comes a point on the journey of integrating a painful pattern, that we are ready to move on.
There becomes something boring about revisiting it…
We reach the next level of “wholeness” and playing the same old wounded story & inquiry has no energy around it.
And yet - to rest in the new “wholeness” we feel, where the energy opens up, where we feel more magnetic, light, & open…
𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 & 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧.
It can feel like we are untethered,
And we don’t know where to locate safety in our nervous system.
So there’s a mix of joy & opening,
With uncertainty & “what the fuck do I do with this?!”
These are moments it is so key to be gentle with ourselves.
To move slowly through the world,
Sensing & orienting to the newfound freedom in our nervous system.
It can feel like learning to walk again,
Such a precious & delicate time to nurture ourselves as we embrace life in a new way.
Notice the small inner movements that want to return to the old thoughts & concerns,
And accept them as the innocent threads that remain as we find a new type of safety within ourselves.
A safety that is not based in re-living the familiar sensations of painful patterns —> but based in a deep capacity to accompany ourselves through the unknown.
